The Chase
While riding the ferry from Gabriola to Naniamo, I was treated to watching this bald eagle chase the this other bird. The other bird had stolen a fish from the eagle, and the eagle wanted it back.

Horseshoe Bay
When I think of Horseshoe bay, I think of the big ferry dock. But it also has a small marina and fantastic view of the coastal mountains. If you stay out of the souvenir stores, it’s a pretty fantastic place to spend an hour or two waiting for your boat.

Skipping on the Sea
My young cousin skipping a stone into the Pacific Ocean. I love how there is something almost defiant in his stance.

Spring Thaw
In 2009 we drove from Vancouver to Kelowna via the Hope-Princeton highway. If you enjoy mountain roads, or mountain views, I can’t recommend that highway enough. It was amazing to see where winter was still strong and where spring had taken root - often times only one ridge apart.

Parenthood
I like how the Geese are attentive and on the look out, but the curious gosling is transfixed by something in the grass. This was taken just outside Stanely Park in Vancouver.

Chasing Eagles into the Sunset 1During my trip to BC in the summer of 2007, my sister and her (now) husband took me paragliding. After my flight, we headed back up the hill so a number of the other pilots could attempt a second flight. I was up on that hill for sun set. Here is one of the last pilots getting ready for his flight.2007HP Photosmart 720
